The Big Reveal (December 20, 2011)

Here’s our future bedroom with the boards off the windows: 

Until this weekend, we’d never seen the south-facing side of the house in daylight—or in any light really, because we still have no electricity. We’ll do something about the paint on the floors and probably end up repainting the trim, but, as you can see, the room is intact for the most part. The four front rooms are nearly identical, and in equally stable if tattered condition, even when exposed to southern light. With a little spitshine, heat, and juice, they’ll feel like home soon enough.
